Win started construction building adobes in Santa Fe, New Mexico. After graduating there from St. John’s College he worked as a carpenter in a custom furniture shop before moving to Eugene in 1990 as an early climate change migrant. Unsuccessful as a farmer, political activist, and monastic, he eventually started his own handyman business, Domestic Tranquility.  An interest in ecobuilding led him to work with James in 2005. In 2009 he learned of Passivhaus and become a Certified Passive House Consultant (CPHC). Now mostly in the office he works on energy modeling and development. Green building offers him that elusive balance of cause and craft—right livelihood.
